Manchester City FC has announced plans to open their first football academy in India through a partnership with the Techno India group in Kolkata.
The agreement was formalised with a Memorandum of Understanding signed in London, with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee attending the ceremony.
"I'm happy with the development," said Mamata Banerjee, who was in London to seek investments for her state.

The new academy, called Man City Football School, will offer training opportunities for young footballers from West Bengal and across India.
Techno India group, the partner institution, operates numerous educational establishments, including colleges, universities, and schools throughout West Bengal.
This initiative marks Manchester City’s first step into football education in India, underscoring their commitment to nurturing football talent in the region.
