The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has once again showcased its commitment to efficient governance by consistently ranking among the top 10 ministries in the grievance redressal assessment index (GRAI) for the 2023-24 period.
Led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and under the guidance of Home Minister Amit Shah, the MHA has excelled in all 15 specified indicators, ensuring timely resolution of public grievances through the centralised public grievance redressal and monitoring system (CPGRAMS).
With a remarkable performance in GRAI, the MHA stands out for its exemplary track record in addressing public grievances. During the 2023-24 period, the MHA successfully resolved 48,837 public grievances within an average redressal time of just eight days, significantly surpassing the standard 30-day timeframe.
Moreover, the ministry achieved a commendable milestone with only 10 percent of grievances resulting in appeals, reflecting its proactive approach to resolving citizen concerns.
Citizen satisfaction with the MHA's grievance redressal mechanism stands at an impressive 40 percent, underscoring the effectiveness of its initiatives in meeting public expectations.
The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances has hailed the MHA's performance as a benchmark for other ministries and departments, highlighting its role as a leader in delivering efficient and responsive governance.
