West Bengal Governor, CV Ananda Bose, has announced his proactive approach for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, vowing to combat violence and corruption during polling.

The elections, set to unfold in seven phases across 42 seats, will be conducted from April 19 to June 1, with the counting of votes scheduled for June 4.

In a press statement, Governor Bose outlined his commitment to being on the ground from day one of the elections, ensuring a hands-on approach to address issues of violence and corruption.

"My two priorities will be to see that violence is ended, corruption is ended during elections, that I will do to the best of my ability. I will be on the road by 6 am before others wake up," he stated.

Moreover, Governor Bose emphasized his role as a mobile Raj Bhavan, indicating his intention to act as a direct point of contact for the people. "I will be acting as part of the Jan Raj Bhavan, as a mobile Raj Bhavan and be available to the people," he affirmed.

Reflecting on past incidents of violence, particularly during the Panchayat polls in the state, Bose reiterated his stance against political violence. "Political Holi with human blood will not be allowed in Bengal anymore," he asserted, underscoring the need for peaceful and fair elections.

Addressing concerns over recent tensions, such as the Sandeshkhali incident, Bose reiterated the importance of upholding the rule of law. He emphasized that the Governor's role is to monitor the actions of the elected government and intervene if necessary to ensure compliance with legal norms.

Governor Bose's proactive stance underscores the significance of maintaining peace, integrity, and transparency throughout the electoral process. As West Bengal gears up for the upcoming polls, his commitment to being on the ground and addressing key issues head-on sets a precedent for fair and orderly elections in the state.
