The 32-year-old actress-model Poonam Pandey lost her life to cervical cancer on Thursday night as confirmed by her team on Friday (February 2, 2024) via her Instagram account. Pandey always made it in the news involving herself in the controversy, primarily due to the provocative content she posted on social media.
Poonam’s fans earlier thought it was a swindle, asking if her Instagram was hacked, until Poonam's manager - Parul Chawla, confirmed the news of the model's demise to a media house.
The Instagram post cites, “This morning is a tough one for us. Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we would request for privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared.”
Following "Nasha," Poonam ventured into Bhojpuri, Telugu, and Hindi films, alongside making appearances in special dance numbers aka item songs. Poonam’s last release was the 2018 film titled "The Journey of Karma." Poonam was also seen in shows such as Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 4 and Lock Upp. Additionally, she took on roles like Jalebi Bai in programs like Total Nadaniyaan and Pyaar Mohabbat Ssshhh.
Subsequently, the actor chose to release erotic content on her website and app, accessible behind a paywall.
Pandey tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend, Sam Bombay, on September 1, 2020, in Mumbai. Later on, on September 11, Poonam filed a complaint against Sam, alleging molestation, threats, and assault, following which Sam was arrested in Goa. In conversation with a media house, Poonam informed that she suffered a brain hemorrhage due to the assaults.
Despite his release on bail, the couple reconciled briefly, but eventually parted ways in 2021.
