Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Friday, discussing the immense potential for collaboration between India and the United States in the fields of technology and innovation.
The telephonic conversation built on the discussions held during their meeting in Washington DC earlier this year, which covered various key issues.
In a post on X, PM Modi shared the details of their conversation, stating, "Spoke to @elonmusk and talked about various issues, including the topics we covered during our meeting in Washington DC earlier this year. We discussed the immense potential for collaboration in the areas of technology and innovation. India remains committed to advancing our partnerships with the US in these domains."
In February, Musk had visited Prime Minister Modi at Blair House in Washington, where they focused on strengthening collaboration between India and the US in areas such as innovation, space exploration, artificial intelligence, and sustainable development.The topics included:

Space exploration: They explored opportunities for cooperation in space activities, notably through Musk's company SpaceX. A significant agenda item was the pending approval of SpaceX's Starlink satellite internet service in India. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) also issued a statement following the conversation, noting that PM Modi and Musk had discussed opportunities to deepen cooperation in emerging technologies, entrepreneurship, and good governance.
PM Modi reflected on their February meeting, highlighting the importance of collaboration in sectors where both nations could make significant advancements.
"Had a very good meeting with @elonmusk in Washington DC. We discussed various issues, including those he is passionate about, such as space, mobility, technology and innovation. I talked about India's efforts towards reform and furthering 'Minimum Government, Maximum Governance,'" PM Modi wrote on X.
Musk, who heads the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), was accompanied by three of his children during the meeting. PM Modi also took to social media to express his delight in meeting Musk's family, adding, "It was also a delight to meet Mr. @elonmusk's family and to talk about a wide range of subjects!"
