Anand Mahindra, Chairman of the Mahindra Group, extended a job offer on Saturday to a courageous 13-year-old girl who ingeniously thwarted a monkey attack in the Basti district of Uttar Pradesh using Amazon's virtual assistant, Alexa.

In Uttar Pradesh’s Basti district, Nikita, 13, was playing with her one-year-old niece when they were attacked by a Monkey. As family members were in the other room, the girl commanded Alexa, Amazon’s virtual voice assistant, to bark to scare away the monkey. The incident took place when Nikita had gone to her sister’s place and was playing with her niece near the kitchen on the first floor of the house.

The girl, displaying remarkable presence of mind and her swift thinking not only saved herself and her sister but also showcased the potential of technology as a tool for human ingenuity.

Reacting to the incident, Mahindra took to his official X handle and reflected on the significance of technology in our era, emphasizing the girl's exceptional quick thinking as a testament to human ingenuity.

"The dominant question of our era is whether we will become slaves or masters of technology," Mahindra stated. "The story of this young girl provides comfort that technology will always be an enabler of human ingenuity."

He further praised the girl's potential for leadership in an ever-unpredictable world and expressed his hope that she would consider a career with Mahindra Group after completing her education.

"After she finishes her education, If she ever decides to work in the corporate world I hope we at @MahindraRise will be able to convince her to join us!!" Mahindra added.
