Devendra Fadnavis has emerged as a pivotal figure in Maharashtra politics, with his mother, Sarita Fadnavis, revealing his deep-rooted popularity within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and his close association with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

 

Speaking in Nagpur, she described her son as a “favourite” of the Prime Minister and a widely admired leader within the party, expressing confidence that he is poised to take on the role of Maharashtra’s chief minister once again.

 

Sarita Fadnavis highlighted her son’s resilience and ability to navigate political challenges, drawing parallels to the mythological figure Abhimanyu, known for his strategic prowess.

 

Her remarks came as the BJP secured a resounding victory in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, cementing its dominance in the state. According to her, Devendra Fadnavis’s tireless dedication and the people’s unwavering support were instrumental in this success.

 

Reflecting on his political journey, Sarita Fadnavis noted that her son’s capabilities have always been evident. She stated that his leadership style and the confidence reposed in him by party members make him a natural choice for the chief ministerial position.

 

She also acknowledged the support he receives from Prime Minister Modi, whom she described as viewing Fadnavis almost like a son.

 

Devendra Fadnavis, who previously served as Maharashtra’s chief minister from 2014 to 2019, has consistently demonstrated his ability to adapt and thrive in the state’s dynamic political landscape.

 

Despite being targeted by the Opposition over the last two years, he has maintained his focus on serving the people and strengthening the party’s presence in the region.
