New ambassador Shukla to launch MoE's Viksit Bharat Buildathon

Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 is designed as a nationwide innovation movement, expected to engage over 5 crore students from more than 3 lakh secondary and senior secondary schools across India.

The Ministry of Education, in partnership with the Atal Innovation Mission and NITI Aayog on Tuesday, announced the Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025, a nationwide initiative scheduled for October 13. This event aims to provide school students from Classes 6 to 12 with a platform to showcase their creativity and innovative ideas, fostering a culture of innovation and problem-solving across India.


Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, a Test Pilot with the Indian Air Force and an astronaut with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), has been named the brand ambassador for the Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025. Shukla will inspire and motivate students to participate actively and present their innovative solutions. 

 

 


The Ministry of Education highlighted the initiative in a post on X, stating, “Ministry of Education, in collaboration with Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, is organising Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025, a nationwide initiative providing school students with an opportunity to showcase creativity and innovative ideas. Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, Test Pilot, Indian Air Force & Astronaut with ISRO, and the Brand Ambassador of #ViksitBharatBuildathon2025, motivates students from Classes 6 to 12 to participate and showcase their innovative ideas.”


The Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 is designed as a nationwide innovation movement, expected to engage over 5 crore students from more than 3 lakh secondary and senior secondary schools across India. The initiative is not merely a competition but a transformative platform that encourages students, teachers, and schools to demonstrate creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills on both national and global stages.

As part of the Buildathon, schools will submit entries in the form of photos and videos showcasing student innovations. A national panel of experts will evaluate these submissions, and the top-performing student teams will receive awards. Beyond recognition, winning schools and students will benefit from long-term support, including corporate adoption, mentorship, and access to resources to further develop and strengthen their innovative projects.


The Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 serves as a rallying call for students to dream big, innovate fearlessly, and contribute to India’s vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047. The initiative invites every school and student to participate, providing an opportunity to showcase their talents and establish themselves as the innovators of tomorrow. 


By fostering a spirit of creativity and collaboration, the Buildathon aims to inspire the next generation to play a pivotal role in India’s journey toward global leadership in innovation.
