An Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner carrying 242 passengers and crew members crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, leaving behind a trail of devastation and grief. Among the many lives lost in the tragic accident was a newlywed bride from Rajasthan who had boarded the ill-fated flight to reunite with her husband in London.
The young woman, Khushboo, hailed from Araba village in Rajasthan's Balotara district. She had married Manfool Singh in January this year. Her husband, currently studying in London, was waiting to meet her for the first time since their wedding. The couple had not seen each other in person since tying the knot.
Heart-wrenching photos of Khushboo’s emotional farewell, capturing her tearful goodbye before leaving for the airport, are now being widely shared on social media, symbolizing the human cost of the tragedy.

In another devastating loss, an entire family of five perished in the crash. Dr. Komi Vyas, her husband Dr. Prateek Joshi, and their three children — twin boys and a daughter — had taken a photo after boarding the plane, smiling together, unaware it would become their final family portrait.
Dr Komi Vyas, who previously worked at Pacific Hospital in Udaipur, had recently resigned from her job. The family was relocating to London to begin a new chapter of their lives. Filled with dreams and hopes of building a home abroad, they had boarded the flight with optimism and joy. Their cheerful faces, captured in that last photograph, are now haunting reminders of lives abruptly cut short.
This tragedy has shaken the nation, leaving countless families grieving and communities in mourning, as the rescue operations continue and tributes pour in for the departed.
