The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday announced a reward of ₹10 lakh for information leading to the arrest of Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

Anmol, who is under investigation for alleged involvement in an April firing incident outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan's residence, has now been added to the anti-terror agency's most-wanted list.

The NIA’s move follows a reported tip-off that Anmol Bishnoi, alias Bhanu, is residing in Canada with frequent travel to the United States. Authorities confirmed that the bounty was initially posted last month as part of a heightened effort to capture him amid increased scrutiny on organised crime networks abroad.

Investigators have linked Anmol Bishnoi not only to the Salman Khan case but also to the murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, who was gunned down in Mumbai’s Bandra area on October 12.

A local court in Mumbai recently denied bail to one of the two suspects involved in the April shooting outside Khan’s residence, noting the act was “with intention or knowledge” to harm the actor, allegedly following Anmol Bishnoi’s instigation.

Lawrence Bishnoi, Anmol’s elder brother, is also implicated in the incident and is currently held in Sabarmati Jail, Gujarat. Both brothers are wanted by Indian authorities as alleged key players in a web of criminal activity spanning India and North America.

The NIA’s FIR, registered in August 2022, named nine individuals, including Lawrence and Anmol Bishnoi, for alleged conspiracy to “raise funds, recruit youth to carry out terrorist acts in Delhi and other parts of the country,” along with plans for “targeted killings of prominent persons.”

Anmol Bishnoi’s links to high-profile crimes have raised alarms, leading to a lookout circular issued in April for his suspected involvement in the Khan shooting incident. While both brothers hail from Fazilka, Punjab, authorities are coordinating internationally to secure Anmol’s apprehension.
