Bihar CM unveils major development projects in Madhubani.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar recently inaugurated development projects worth ₹1,107 crore in Madhubani district, marking a significant step in the state’s efforts to improve its infrastructure and overall development.

On Sunday, he laid the foundation stones for 139 projects aimed at boosting the district’s economy and quality of life for its residents. These projects span several sectors, from education to rural infrastructure, and are expected to create numerous job opportunities and improve public services.

During his visit, Kumar highlighted the state's commitment to enhancing connectivity and transportation. He announced that the government would urge the Centre to begin flight services from the Madhubani airport under the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) scheme.

This would not only make air travel more accessible for the people of Madhubani but also boost tourism and trade, connecting the region to larger cities.

In addition to the inauguration of new projects, the Chief Minister also chaired a meeting at Mithila Haat in the Jhanjharpur area to review the ongoing developmental schemes in the district.

During the meeting, District Magistrate Arvind Kumar Verma presented a detailed overview of the progress of several important projects, including the Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme, the CM Nishchay Self Help Allowance Scheme, and the CM Rural Solar Street Light Scheme.

These initiatives are designed to support the youth, promote self-reliance, and enhance rural infrastructure, particularly in areas without reliable access to electricity.

The Chief Minister further emphasised the importance of addressing the concerns raised by local elected representatives. He instructed the officials to resolve these issues promptly to ensure the smooth execution of ongoing projects.

This collaborative approach demonstrates the government's commitment to working alongside the people of Madhubani and ensuring that their needs are met.

Another important stop for Kumar during his visit was the Saksham Anganwadi Centre in Durgipatti village, located in the Khutauna block. Here, he took the time to interact with the children and teachers at the centre, inquiring about the facilities and services provided.

The Anganwadi centres play a crucial role in early childhood education and nutrition, and Kumar's visit highlighted the state's focus on strengthening these centres to improve the well-being of young children.

Kumar also took the opportunity to meet with members of ‘JEEViKA Didis’, women from self-help groups (SHGs) that are part of the state's rural empowerment initiative.

These SHGs have proven to be highly effective in promoting women’s participation in the local economy, and Kumar praised the efforts of the women for their hard work and dedication to their communities.

A significant announcement made by the Chief Minister was the development of a 500-acre industrial area in the Laukahi block of Madhubani. This industrial area is expected to attract investment, create jobs, and improve the economic landscape of the district.

The move is aligned with the state’s broader efforts to encourage industrialisation and create a more diversified economy, offering more opportunities for the people of Bihar.
