The North West Delhi district has initiated the distribution of Voter Information Slips (VIS) as part of preparations for the upcoming assembly elections.
This initiative, led by District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Ankita Anand, aims to ensure that all eligible voters are informed about their enrolment and ready to participate in the democratic process on February 5, 2025.
Teams of poll officials have started visiting households across the district to hand out the slips. These documents provide vital details, including the voter’s name, assigned polling station, and other relevant information.
By doing so, the Election Office intends to make it easier for citizens to locate their designated polling booths and cast their votes without any inconvenience.
Ankita Anand underscored the significance of the initiative, highlighting that it is a crucial step to encourage maximum voter turnout.
She stressed the importance of ensuring that every eligible voter receives their VIS and urged citizens to verify their details to prevent any last-minute complications on polling day.
She also shared that colour coding for polling booths has been introduced to help voters easily navigate to their centres.
With the election date approaching, the District Election Office is taking every possible measure to ensure a smooth and transparent voting process.
These efforts reflect a strong commitment to facilitating an inclusive and well-organised election in North West Delhi.
