After the BJP’s complaint against Hemant Soren for a two year age difference in his poll affidavits of 2019 and 2024 assembly polls, the Congress has lodged a complaint against BJP candidate and Hemant’s sister in law Sita Soren for a one year age difference in her affidavit.
The election agent of INDIA block candidate Dr Irfan Ansari from Jamtara assembly seat, Azharuddin, has submitted an objection letter to the Returning Officer asking him to conduct a thorough investigation in the matter.
It has been submitted that Sita Murmu Soren was a candidate from Jama assembly constituency in the year 2019 and in the 2024 elections, she is the BJP candidate from Jamtara assembly constituency.
There is a difference of 5 years between these two elections, but in both the election affidavits of Sita Soren, there is a difference of 6 years in her age. This difference raises suspicion that there may be inconsistencies in the authenticity of the information given by Sita Soren.
Azharuddin has requested the returning officer that if any irregularity is found in the investigation, then the nomination of BJP candidate Sita Murmu Soren should be cancelled.
He has demanded immediate action in this matter, so that transparency and fairness is maintained in the election process. He has also informed the Jamtara Deputy Commissioner and Observer about the matter.
Notably, BJP had raised a similar objection on JMM leader Hemant Soren’s age. In the 2019 and 2024 affidavits of Hemant Soren the age difference is seven years, meaning he aged 7 years in a duration of 5 years.
The State BJP has also submitted a complaint to the election officials demanding an investigation and cancellation of Hemant Soren’s nomination.
