National Security Advisor of India, Ajit Doval's scheduled trip to Russia was called off due to his health concerns, said the sources on Monday.
Doval is indisposed due to seasonal flu, the sources added. The NSA was scheduled to attend the 13th International Meeting of High Representatives for Security Issues to be held in Moscow from 27 to 29 May. NSA Doval is looking onward to taking forward bilateral engagement with Russia on strategic and security matters at an early date, they said.
Previously, the visits of both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh were cancelled, citing the security situation after the Pahalgam terror attack as the reason. The PM was to attend Russia’s 80th Victory Day parade on 9 May whereas the Defence Minister was later deputed in the PM's place, which was also called off.
