NSUI Members Lock NTA Office Amid NEET-UG Protest.

Members of NSUI, the student wing of the Congress party, staged a protest at the National Testing Agency (NTA) headquarters, alleging irregularities in the NEET-UG and UGC-NET exams. They forcibly entered the NTA office in Okhla and locked its doors, prompting police intervention to manage the situation.

Led by NSUI's national president Varun Choudhary, protesters chanted slogans demanding the shutdown of NTA, accusing it of corruption. Visuals shared by NSUI depicted students sealing the NTA office entrance with an iron chain and lock, with messages criticising the agency's integrity.

Authorities from NTA have yet to respond to the incident. Delhi Police arrived at the scene to maintain order, reporting that the NTA had initially locked its doors in response to the protest, prompting demonstrators to take further action.

The protest stems from widespread concerns over alleged exam irregularities, including leaks, affecting national-level exams like NEET-UG, NEET-PG, and UGC-NET administered by NTA.

Varun Choudhary condemned these issues, labelling them as detrimental to students nationwide and calling for NTA's dissolution in favour of a more transparent examination system.

Choudhary emphasised that the disruptions caused by exam postponements and leaks represent a severe setback for students' futures. He threatened further protests, stating that unless their demand to abolish NTA is met, similar actions will be replicated at NTA offices across India.

The NEET-UG, conducted on May 5 with participation from approximately 24 lakh candidates, faced subsequent controversies following its June 4 result announcement.

Allegations of question paper leaks in states like Bihar fueled dissatisfaction, leading to the Education Ministry's decision to cancel UGC-NET and NEET-PG exams over concerns about compromised exam integrity.
