The bodies of two tourists from Karnataka, who were tragically killed in the Pahalgam terror attack, arrived in Bengaluru on Thursday.
The victims, identified as Manjunath Rao and Bharath Bushan, were among the 26 people who lost their lives in the attack in Kashmir’s Pahalgam on Tuesday. The terrorists, after confirming the victims’ religious identity, shot them in front of their families.
The mortal remains of the two men were brought to Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, where Union Minister V. Somanna and Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya accompanied them.
Following the arrival, Manjunath Rao's body was sent to his hometown of Shivamogga for cremation, while Bharath Bushan’s funeral will take place in Bengaluru.
BJP MP Tejasvi Surya spoke to the media and reiterated that the Government of India, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, would retaliate against this heinous terrorist attack.
He expressed his firm belief that justice would be pursued, and the perpetrators of such attacks would be held accountable.
This attack has left the nation shocked and devastated, with the government taking swift measures, including suspending visa services for Pakistani nationals. The tragic loss of innocent lives in such a violent manner has deeply affected the families and the country at large.
As the investigation continues, there is a growing call for justice, and the government’s focus remains on ensuring that those responsible for the terror attack are brought to justice.
