A Pakistani national was apprehended by Border Security Force (BSF) officers on Monday after they discovered him trying to enter India illegally. The incident happened in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district.
The person was seen 'approaching aggressively towards the border fence' and was initially a member of a larger group of individuals trying to enter India covertly, according to a BSF official statement. When BSF officers noticed the suspicious movement, they warned the man, but he disregarded their warning.
The BSF statement said, "On the evening of August 11, BSF troops observed suspicious movement wherein a Pak National was observed crossing the IB and approaching aggressively towards the border fence in district Kathua, Jammu. He was warned by alert troops but paid no heed."

In response to the perceived threat, the BSF troops opened fire, injuring the man in his legs. He was then taken into custody by the BSF. "BSF troops, sensing a threat, fired on his legs. Later on, he was taken into BSF custody," the statement added. Following the incident, the BSF lodged a protest with the Pakistani Rangers along the international border.
For medical attention, the hurt intruder was taken to a hospital. Authorities said they would look into who he was and why he tried to enter India illegally. This incident comes after another arrest that day. Along the Indo-Nepal border, the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) arrested Zhang Yong, a Chinese national, who was 62 years old. Yong was trying to enter India illegally from Nepal.
During a routine check on Sunday night in the Sonauli area, the arrest took place. Yong was carrying a Chinese passport, but news agencies reported that he lacked a valid Indian visa and other required documents, according to Station Officer Ajeet Pratap Singh of the Sonauli police station.
