Inaugurating Aero India 2025 at Yelahanka Air Force Station in Bengaluru on Monday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh underlined India’s commitment to "peace and stability", asserting that "strength" is indispensable for achieving a better world order.
Addressing the 15th edition of Asia’s premier aerospace and defence exhibition, Singh said, “Peace can never be achieved in a weak state of security. The banyan tree of peace can stand only on the roots of strength. I believe that we all have to be strong together, only then will we be able to ensure peace. Only by being strong, we will be able to work for a better world order.”
Referring to ongoing global uncertainties, the Defence Minister said India had always advocated peace and prosperity without engaging in any major power rivalries.
"If you assess the history of India, you will find that we have neither attacked any country, nor have we been involved in any great power rivalry," he said. "As a big country, India has always been an advocate of peace and stability. And when I am saying this, it is not just a matter of saying, but it is a matter of our fundamental ideal."
He highlighted the presence of foreign representatives at Aero India, viewing it as a testament to India's vision of international cooperation.
"The presence of our friends from foreign countries (at Aero India) is a testimony to the fact that our partners share our vision of One earth, One family, One future," Singh noted.
Describing the event as “The Runway To A Billion Opportunities,” Singh stated that the aerospace exhibition would showcase India’s industrial and technological prowess while fostering relations with international partners.

“Aero India, which starts today, has many objectives. The first important objective is to showcase not only our industrial capability but also our technological advancements to the entire world. This shows our commitment towards the security of our nation," he said.
He stressed that the larger objective of the event was to strengthen ties with friendly nations and facilitate collaboration across industries.
"This confluence would be effective in bringing our partners closer together, ultimately benefitting us all," Singh added.
Drawing a parallel with the Maha Kumbh underway at Prayagraj, Singh remarked, "I feel that another Maha Kumbh is beginning from today in the form of Aero India. While on one hand the Prayagraj Kumbh is a Kumbh of soul searching, on the other hand the Maha Kumbh of Aero India is a Kumbh of research."
Aero India 2025, which began with a vibrant display of India’s defence technology, brought together government officials, industry leaders, scientists, defence experts, startups, and academics from across the globe.
