Kishor challenges Nitish to name cabinet members offhand.

Prashant Kishor, political strategist and founder of Jan Suraaj, has launched a sharp attack on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, claiming he is no longer fit to govern the state.

Speaking to the media, Kishor raised doubts about Kumar’s ability to lead effectively, citing his “diminishing capacity” to manage the responsibilities of the Chief Minister's office.

Kishor challenged Nitish Kumar directly, stating that he would end his campaign against him if the Chief Minister could name all cabinet members and their portfolios without referring to notes. This bold statement was intended to highlight Kishor’s belief that Kumar is both “mentally and physically exhausted.”

The strategist criticised the state government over its handling of law and order, pointing to the recent firing incident in Mokama. Kishor alleged that the influence of criminal groups, including sand and liquor mafias, has grown significantly under the current administration.

He accused the government of allowing criminals to maintain ties with those in positions of power, which has undermined public safety.

According to Kishor, the deteriorating governance in Bihar is directly linked to what he describes as Nitish Kumar’s inability to make strong decisions. He argued that this failure has created an environment where such incidents are inevitable.

Kishor did not hold back in his criticism, predicting that this would be Nitish Kumar’s last term as Chief Minister. He mockingly suggested that Kumar should make the most of his remaining time in office, as his political career was nearing its conclusion.

Continuing his campaign against the JD(U)-led government, Kishor framed the Chief Minister’s leadership as a reflection of broader governance failures. He emphasised that the state’s administration had lost its credibility and ability to function effectively.

Meanwhile, Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey came to the Chief Minister’s defence. Pandey dismissed Kishor’s comments, describing them as baseless and accusing him of seeking public attention through dramatic acts.

Pandey also took aim at Kishor’s recent protest against the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) exams, calling it an unnecessary display.

Pandey’s remarks included a personal jab, claiming that Kishor himself was “mentally weak” and in need of medical treatment. This exchange has added to the political tension in Bihar, with sharp rhetoric dominating the ongoing debate.
