Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi on Sunday to inquire about the health of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, who was admitted to the hospital earlier in the day.
PM Modi shared an update on social media, stating, "Went to AIIMS and enquired about the health of Vice President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar Ji. I pray for his good health and speedy recovery."
His visit highlighted concerns for the well-being of the 73-year-old leader, who was admitted to the cardiac department after experiencing chest pain and uneasiness.
According to reports, Dhankhar is currently stable and is being treated in the Critical Care Unit (CCU) under the supervision of Dr. Rajiv Narang, Head of the Department of Cardiology at AIIMS. Medical experts are closely monitoring his condition.
Dhankhar, who also serves as the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, has been actively participating in various events in recent weeks. Just days ago, he visited a government school in Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu, where he was received by state officials, including Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Avinash Gehlot.
During the visit, he planted a sapling in memory of his late mother, Kesari Devi, as part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign.
Additionally, Dhankhar interacted with students at the school, offering them words of encouragement and emphasizing the importance of independent thinking.
At a recent convocation ceremony at Jan Nayak Chaudhary Devi Lal Vidyapeeth in Sirsa, he advised students not to let others dictate their life choices and to embrace challenges with confidence.
With his hospitalization, concerns have grown over his health, but doctors have assured that his condition remains under control. As the Vice President undergoes treatment, political leaders and citizens across the country have expressed their well-wishes for his speedy recovery.
