Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital on Friday. During their meeting, CM Saini stated that he received valuable guidance from the Prime Minister on various important topics.
He took to the social media platform X to express his gratitude, highlighting the Prime Minister's affection and sensitivity towards the people of Haryana. CM Saini also voiced his confidence in the progress of both the state and the country under PM Modi's strong leadership.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, CM Saini shared that Prime Minister Modi discussed the ongoing development work in Haryana and inquired about the future plans for the state.
The Prime Minister also showed a keen interest in the effectiveness of the Central Government's schemes for the poor, ensuring that the benefits are reaching the intended recipients. CM Saini expressed optimism about the upcoming assembly elections in Haryana, asserting that the BJP would secure a significant victory under PM Modi's leadership.
Haryana is one of the eight states scheduled to hold legislative assembly elections this year. Currently, the state is governed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The Haryana Assembly Elections 2024 are expected to take place on or before October 2024, as the current Assembly's tenure ends on November 3 this year. However, the official election schedule has not yet been announced.
In the meantime, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) announced on Thursday that it will contest the upcoming assembly elections in Haryana independently. Previously, the AAP contested one seat in Haryana in the recent Lok Sabha elections in alliance with the Congress.
AAP leader and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann emphasised that the party plans to form a team, contest the elections, and defeat the "double-engine government" in Haryana, which has ruled the state for the past ten years. Mann noted that the people of Haryana are seeking change, and AAP is prepared to contest all 90 assembly seats in the state.
Chief Minister Saini remains confident in the BJP's ability to secure another victory in the state assembly elections later this year.
