On Sunday, the occasion of Guru Purnima saw Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other leaders taking to social media platform X to extend their greetings. PM Modi expressed his best wishes to all countrymen, emphasising the significance of the holy festival.

 

Modi conveyed his heartfelt message, saying, "Many best wishes to all the countrymen on the holy festival of Guru Purnima." His greeting highlighted the importance of this day in honouring Gurus and teachers.

 

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also shared his greetings. Shah emphasised the crucial role of Gurus in society and national development. He stated that Gurus are pivotal in the growth of any society or nation, as they guide their disciples from darkness to light with knowledge accumulated from years of dedication, research, and experience.

 

Shah further expressed, "Gurus are the main carriers of the development of any society or nation. With the knowledge gained from years of penance, research, and experience, they take disciples from darkness to light and sow the seeds of character-building and patriotism in them. On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, I pay my tribute to all such Gurus and wish ‘Guru Purnima’ to all the countrymen."

 

Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress President and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, also extended his greetings. He highlighted the special significance of Gurus in one’s life, noting how they shape individuals and society with their wisdom and guidance.

 

Kharge's message read, "Heartiest greetings of Guru Purnima to all the countrymen. Gurus hold a special importance in our lives. Respectful greetings to all the teachers. This day is an auspicious occasion for us to express our gratitude towards our Gurus, guides, and teachers. We wish that their guidance always illuminates our path and teaches us the right values of living life."
