Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a pointed swipe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday while celebrating the successful rocket launch by Hyderabad-based space startup Skyroot Aerospace, noting that the achievement belonged to a team of young innovators with an average age of 28, "not some 56-year-old young man".

Speaking during his customary address ahead of the Monsoon Session of Parliament, PM Modi praised the country's startup ecosystem and highlighted Skyroot's recent milestone as a moment of pride for India's youth, while also urging the Opposition to ensure a productive legislative session. He noted that the youth of India have embarked on a new journey into space, pointing out that the average age of the entire team working at Skyroot is merely 28 years, before adding that he was not speaking of a 56-year-old youth. Although he did not explicitly name Rahul Gandhi, the jibe was directed at the Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, who is 56.

On top of all this, the Prime Minister mentioned that hardly any country in the entire world has seen such kind of private enterprise. He called it a huge success. In addition to this, he said that the profile of India in the international arena is being acknowledged everywhere in the world, and this has sent a very strong message.

He said that the previous month was characterised by various landmarks which contributed to improving India’s image on the national and international front. PM Modi said that these accomplishments were achieved by the hard work of scientists, engineers, innovators, entrepreneurs, and labourers of India, and that these accomplishments were possible because of the reform measures taken by the government and the country getting on the “Reform Express.”

Enumerating some of the recent developments related to infrastructure and technology, PM Modi referred to how an enormous oil refinery had just been inaugurated for the country in Rajasthan along with the launch of the third semiconductor factory in the country. In addition to this, PM Modi referred to how one of the most sophisticated green hydrogen-driven trains had been introduced in India, boasting of the most powerful engine and the largest configuration ever. Concluding his speech, PM Modi said that the Monsoon Session of Parliament was being launched at a time when India's economy was gaining strength and momentum.
