Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday chaired a Cabinet Committee meeting on Security to review the crisis in Nepal and called for peace.
In a post on X, he said, “On my return from Himachal Pradesh and Punjab today, a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security discussed the developments in Nepal. The violence in Nepal is heart-rending. I am anguished that many young people have lost their lives.”
The Prime Minister stressed that Nepal’s stability, peace, and prosperity are very important for India. “I humbly appeal to all my brothers and sisters in Nepal to support peace," the PM said.
The CCS includes the Prime Minister, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.
