Prime Minister Narendra Modi was given a lavish welcome in Brasilia upon his arrival for his State Visit to Brazil. The Indian community and Brazilian artists united in a spectacular display of culture in which the powerful Shiva Tandava Stotram merged with the vibrant Brazilian Samba Reggae beats in a remarkable symbol of unity in diversity.

Padma Shri Jonas Masetti, a well-known Vedanta teacher in Brazil, called the experience very moving. "It was a very powerful moment, a true blessing for all of us. This is a great opportunity to give our heartfelt thanks to India.
The teaching of Vedanta has been changing our lives here, not only personally, but transforming the very texture of our society. It gives our lives clarity, depth, and meaning," he said.

The performance was a reflection of a distinctive cultural blend, which also featured Amazonian chanting, bringing out an unexpected bridge of spiritual connection between India and Brazil.

Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Director Jyoti Kiran Shukla commented, "This special programme is a special present to the Indian community, a lovely blend of our Vedic chants. In Vedic practices, we have strong chants such as Shiva Tandava and Shroth.
Today, we heard these blended with Amazonian chants, and it is an interesting cultural bonding between India and Brazil. At the Vivekananda Centre, we are studying the similarities of these chants, their linguistic patterns, meanings, and origins."

A yoga instructor, Kenlyn, who was present to see the show, expressed her enthusiasm: "I wasn't a performer myself, but it was a real privilege to see my fellow students perform and to be included in this amazing opportunity to share with the Prime Minister...."

One of the performers said: "I've been learning Vedanta approximately 10 years ago now with Acharya Jonas Masetti.
It's a great privilege to stand before him for the second time and to chant the mantras we have learnt every day for many years. Learning Vedanta has greatly changed my life in countless ways."

Prime Minister Modi, visibly moved by the vibrant welcome, took to X to share his appreciation: "Landed in Brasilia a short while ago. The Indian community accorded a memorable welcome, once again highlighting how passionate our community is and how connected they remain with their roots."

PM Modi arrived in Brasilia after wrapping up a "very productive" visit to Rio de Janeiro for the 17th BRICS Summit. He was received at the airport by Brazilian Defence Minister Jose Mucio Monteiro Filho. During his visit to the Brazilian capital, PM Modi has a meeting with President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva lined up on the agenda where they will address a host of bilateral issues involved in India-Brazil relations.
