Prime Minister Narendra Modi has highlighted the World Bank’s confidence in India’s economic growth, stating that the country will continue to be the fastest-growing major economy in the years ahead.
He made this statement while inaugurating the 'Invest Madhya Pradesh - Global Investors Summit-2025' in Bhopal. The event aims to showcase the vast investment opportunities in the state and attract industrialists from around the world.
The World Bank recently released its Global Economic Prospects report, predicting that India will remain at the forefront of global economic growth. Modi emphasised that India’s economic policies and reforms have strengthened its position as a preferred investment destination.
He also said that the newly formed Deregulation Commission will play a key role in creating a business-friendly regulatory environment across states.
India is emerging as a major player in global supply chains, especially in the aerospace sector. Modi expressed confidence that industries such as textiles, tourism and technology will generate significant employment in the coming years.
He also noted that India is witnessing a transformation in manufacturing, making the country a strong competitor in the global market.
During the summit, the Prime Minister unveiled 18 new policies introduced by the Madhya Pradesh government to attract large-scale investments. He highlighted the state's growing potential, stating that its skilled workforce and thriving industries make it an ideal destination for businesses.
He added that the pace of development in Madhya Pradesh has doubled under the ‘double engine’ government, referring to the BJP-led administration at both state and national levels.
Madhya Pradesh is also taking the lead in India's electric vehicle revolution. Modi noted that the state has seen rapid advancements in clean energy and sustainable transport, creating new opportunities for businesses and investors.
The government is committed to providing the necessary infrastructure and support to ensure growth in this sector.
The Prime Minister also spoke about India’s expanding healthcare and wellness industry. He said that the world is taking a keen interest in India's holistic healthcare approach, adding that the ‘Heal in India’ initiative is gaining recognition globally.
With a strong focus on traditional medicine and modern healthcare, the country is attracting patients and medical professionals from different parts of the world.
