“The choice of Doda as the venue for tomorrow’s election rally was made by the PM himself,” party sources said. If time allows, he will address another rally on the same day, they added.

PM Modi is set to arrive in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday for a poll rally, his first since the campaign officially kicked off with Amit Shah releasing the Party manifesto on September 6 in Jammu.

PM Modi is likely to address the BJP election rally in Doda, where voting for eight assembly constituencies in three districts of Chenab Valley is scheduled for September 18.

In the 2014 Assembly elections, PM Modi addressed the BJP poll rally in Kishtwar district. As per party sources, the people of Doda have since requested to see and hear the PM.

“The choice of Doda as the venue for tomorrow’s election rally was made by the PM himself,” party sources said. If time allows, he will address another rally on the same day, they added.

Meanwhile, a high alert has been sounded in the entire Chenab Valley region, with security forces and police maintaining their abundant presence to seal the area for the VVIP visit.

Additionally, security will cover the whole venue where the Prime Minister is expected to address the gathering.

PM Modi will be visiting J&K during all three phases of the Assembly elections to boost the party’s chances of forming the next government in Jammu and Kashmir.

The BJP is fielding its candidates in all 43 Assembly constituencies in the Jammu region.

In the last J&K Assembly, the party had 25 MLAs.

PM Modi is also expected to visit the Kashmir Valley on September 19, where he will address another BJP election rally in Srinagar city.

Voting in the three phases of J&K polls will begin on September 18, September 25, and October 1. The results will be announced on October 8.

Assembly elections are being held in J&K after more than a decade; the last being held in 2014. The region has been under the Centre's control since 2018 and will now be finally voting to elect its legislative Assembly.
