Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the RJ Sankara Eye Hospital in Varanasi, emphasising its unique blend of spirituality and modernity. Located in Hariharpur, this hospital is poised to cater to both the elderly and children, fulfilling a crucial healthcare need in the region.
During the inauguration, PM Modi highlighted the hospital's potential to provide employment opportunities for the local youth. The presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at the event underscored the significance of this occasion in his parliamentary constituency, which is also known as Kashi.

PM Modi stressed the importance of both curative and preventative healthcare. He mentioned the role of various Ayushman Aarogya Mandirs in India, which are designed to assist in the early detection and diagnosis of diseases.
The Prime Minister also spoke about the ongoing efforts to establish a network of critical care blocks and modern laboratories across the country, reinforcing the commitment to improve healthcare accessibility and quality.
The new RJ Sankara Eye Hospital boasts a capacity of 225 beds and is equipped to provide comprehensive consultations and treatments for a wide range of eye conditions.
The facility aims to serve patients from not just Uttar Pradesh, but also from neighbouring states like Bihar, Jharkhand, and Madhya Pradesh. During his visit, PM Modi took the time to explore an exhibition showcasing the state-of-the-art features of the hospital, further affirming the commitment to high-quality healthcare.
