Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended a heartfelt invitation to people across the country and beyond to visit Gujarat’s iconic Rann Utsav. Describing the festival as an unforgettable blend of culture, history, and natural beauty, he urged visitors to immerse themselves in the vibrant spirit of Kutch.

 

In a social media post, the Prime Minister called the Rann Utsav a "lifetime experience" and emphasised its unique charm. He highlighted the event as an opportunity to witness the rich cultural heritage of India against the stunning backdrop of the White Rann.

 

The festival, which began on December 1, 2024, will continue until February 28, 2025, with the Tent City remaining open until March for tourists.

 

PM Modi spoke warmly about Kutch’s hospitality and its thriving arts and crafts. He encouraged people to take part in the celebration and discover the region’s rich traditions.

He described Rann Utsav as an event that showcases the uniqueness of Kutch, offering a chance for visitors to relax or explore the area’s history and culture.

 

Rann Utsav was launched in 2005 to promote the untapped tourism potential of the Kutch region. Over the years, it has gained significant recognition, receiving numerous domestic and international accolades.

 

The festival draws tourists from across the globe, making it one of India’s premier cultural events.

 

The village of Dhordo, which serves as the venue for the festival, gained special recognition in 2023 when it was named the Best Tourism Village by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation.

 

The award celebrated Dhordo for its dedication to cultural preservation, sustainable tourism, and rural development. This achievement underscores the festival's contribution to putting Kutch on the global tourism map.
