Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attends the consecration ceremony of Shri Ram Darbar and other deity idols at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple, in Ayodhya, Thursday.

The preparations are underway for a grand flag-hoisting ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya, scheduled for November. As per to the sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to attend the event as the chief guest, and thousands of special invitees are expected to witness this significant occasion.

An official from the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, speaking to national media on condition of anonymity, revealed that two dates in November have been shortlisted for the ceremony. The event is set to be another landmark moment in the timeline of the Ram temple's construction. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi might be present as the chief guest on this auspicious occasion,” the official stated, adding that preparations are moving ahead at a fast pace.

As per sources within the temple, the Ram flag will be hoisted atop the temple’s 161-foot-tall main spire. Flags will also be raised on the spires of all other temples within the sprawling complex, symbolising a major milestone in the temple’s architectural completion. Anil Mishra, a trustee of the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra, told to national media, “The final programme is still being prepared. As soon as it is ready, it will be shared.”

The upcoming flag-hoisting is being planned on the same scale as the grand consecration ceremony of Lord Ram earlier this year. The trust is preparing an extensive guest list that includes saints, spiritual leaders, dignitaries, and devotees from India and abroad. Officials estimate that thousands of guests will be in attendance, marking this as the second major public event at the temple since the consecration of Ram Lalla. A senior Ayodhya administration official confirmed that large-scale preparations are underway to accommodate the guests. Hotel rooms across the city are being reserved, and major dharamshalas and guest houses are being readied for lodging.

Temple sources also mentioned that astrologers are currently determining the most auspicious date and time for the ceremony. The two proposed dates under discussion are November 16 and November 25. The flag-hoisting will be held with full religious fervour, featuring Vedic chants, traditional music, and elaborate worship rituals. A Ram Katha (narration of Lord Ram's life and virtues) may be organized as part of the celebrations, and renowned musicians and cultural artists from across the country are expected to perform, adding to the spiritual and cultural magnificence of the event.
