Prime Minister Narendra Modi meets Benoit Bazin, Chairman and CEO of Saint-Gobain, in Paris on Thursday. The two discussed investment opportunities, sustainability and the company's expansion plans in India.


Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday met leading French business executives in Paris and discussed investment opportunities, expansion plans and collaboration across sectors including construction, mobility and artificial intelligence.

 

The meetings took place during Modi's visit to France, where he attended the G7 Summit and held bilateral discussions with several world leaders.

 

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Modi met Benoit Bazin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Saint-Gobain, and discussed opportunities in the materials and construction sector, with a focus on sustainability.

 

The prime minister highlighted the company's strong presence in India and its contribution to employment generation. Bazin, in turn, shared Saint-Gobain's plans for further investments and expansion in the country.

Modi also held talks with Martin Sion, Chief Executive Officer of Alstom, focusing on mobility and railway modernisation. The prime minister noted Alstom's significant investments and manufacturing footprint in India, which have supported job creation and growth in the rail sector.

 

Sion discussed the company's future expansion and investment plans in India, the MEA said.

 

In a separate meeting, Modi met Arthur Mensch, co-founder and CEO of Mistral AI, and highlighted opportunities within India's rapidly growing artificial intelligence ecosystem.

 

Mensch expressed the company's interest in collaborating with India and partnering with Indian firms to advance innovation and expand AI capabilities.

 

The meetings underscored India's efforts to attract global investment and strengthen partnerships in emerging technologies, manufacturing and infrastructure as the country seeks to accelerate economic growth and industrial development.
