Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently engaged with 181 IAS Officer Trainees from the 2022 batch, currently serving as Assistant Secretaries in various ministries and departments. The interaction took place at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in the national capital, where PM Modi highlighted the importance of contributing to India’s growth trajectory and making a positive impact on people’s lives.

Describing the session as "wonderful," PM Modi underscored the need for these young officers to play a pivotal role in shaping India’s future. He encouraged them to draw from their training experiences and emphasised the significance of the Assistant Secretary program in providing hands-on learning opportunities across all levels of administration.

PM Modi stressed that the New India expects proactive governance and excellence in service delivery. He referenced initiatives like Lakhpati Didi, Drone Didi, and PM Awas Yojana, urging the officers to adopt a saturation approach in implementing these schemes effectively and ensuring social justice without discrimination.

Highlighting the choice between being impediments or catalysts in service delivery, PM Modi urged the officers to aspire to be agents of change. He emphasised the satisfaction that comes from witnessing tangible improvements in society.

"Nation First" isn’t just a slogan for PM Modi but a guiding principle of his life’s work. He called upon the officers to join him in prioritising national interests and to focus on the future rather than dwelling on past achievements.

The interaction also saw the presence of Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (Personnel), P K Mishra, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, Rajiv Gauba, Cabinet Secretary, AK Bhalla, Secretary (Home and DoPT), and other senior officials, underscoring the significance of the event in shaping the ethos of public service among India’s administrative leadership.

This session reflects PM Modi’s commitment to nurturing a cadre of administrators dedicated to innovation, efficiency, and inclusive development, aligning with his vision of a prosperous and forward-looking India.
