Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday, called upon people to participate in the Guru Charan Yatra by having darshan of the revered 'Jore Sahib' as it journeys from New Delhi to Gurudwara Patna Sahib in Bihar. In a post on X, PM Modi expressed his hope that the yatra would strengthen people's connection with the noble principles of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and Mata Sahib Kaur Ji.

He stated, "May the Guru Charan Yatra deepen our connection with the noble ideals of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and Mata Sahib Kaur Ji. I urge people in the areas this yatra will cover to come and have Darshan of the holy 'Jore Sahib'."

The Guru Charan Yatra, named "Charan Suhawa," involves the transportation of the sacred Jore Sahib—footwear belonging to Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru, and his wife, Mata Sahib Kaur—from New Delhi to Gurudwara Patna Sahib in Bihar. These cherished relics, preserved for over 300 years by the family of Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, will be available for Sangat Darshan (devotional viewing) in multiple cities along the route.

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and his family conducted an 'ardas' at their residence to mark the ceremonial handover of the Holy Jore Sahib to the Sikh Panth. The relics will be available for darshan at Gurdwara Motibaug Sahib in New Delhi from 6 pm to 11 pm on Wednesday, allowing devotees to seek blessings.

The yatra will commence on Thursday from Gurdwara Moti Bagh Sahib in New Delhi and conclude on November 1, at Takht Sri Patna Sahib in Bihar, the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh. The spiritual journey will follow a detailed itinerary, making stops at key cities and towns to enable devotees to pay their respects.

The planned route includes Faridabad, Agra, Bareilly, Mahangapur, Lucknow, Kanpur, and Prayagraj. On October 30, the procession will depart from Prayagraj, proceed through Varanasi, and reach Sasaram before being placed at Gurdwara Guru Ka Bagh in Patna Sahib. From there, it will complete its final leg to Takht Sri Patna Sahib.

The yatra will be conducted with reverence, accompanied by the presence of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and the Panj Pyare (Five Beloved Ones), in accordance with traditional Sikh spiritual protocols. This initiative holds profound significance for the global Sikh community, offering a rare opportunity to connect with physical relics of Guru Gobind Singh and Mata Sahib Kaur Ji, both pivotal figures in Sikh history.

The "Charan Suhawa" Guru Charan Yatra is expected to attract large gatherings of devotees at each stop. Local Gurdwaras along the route are preparing special programmes, including Kirtan Darbars and langar sewa, to accommodate the Sangat and facilitate a spiritually enriching experience.
