Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday praised the success of government-led cleanliness campaigns that generated Rs 2,364 crore from scrap disposal between 2021 and 2024.
He called these efforts a commendable example of how collective action and efficient management can yield sustainable results.
According to an official statement from the Personnel Ministry, the most recent campaign—Special Campaign 4.0—earned over Rs 650 crore through scrap disposal between October 2 and 31 this year.
Conducted across more than 5.97 lakh sites, the campaign freed up 190 lakh square feet of space for office use.
In a post on X, Modi tagged Union Minister Jitendra Singh’s message on the campaign, saying, "Commendable! By focusing on efficient management and proactive action, this effort has achieved great results, showing how collective efforts promote both cleanliness and economic prudence.”
