PM sends Shah, Aviation Minister to Ahmedabad after AI crash

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken prompt action following the tragic crash of Air India flight AI171 in Ahmedabad. According to official sources, the Prime Minister personally reached out to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, instructing both leaders to rush to the crash site and oversee relief and rescue efforts.


The ill-fated flight, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner bound for London Gatwick, crashed shortly after taking off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. The aircraft went down near the Meghaninagar area of Ahmedabad. At the time of the incident, 242 individuals were on board, including passengers and crew. Emergency services have since launched full-scale rescue operations.


As per government officials, both Amit Shah and Ram Mohan Naidu are expected to coordinate closely with state and local authorities to supervise on-ground response measures. Their visit will also include interactions with affected families and a review of support systems being provided at the crash site and local hospitals.


In the aftermath of the tragedy, a high-level investigation into the cause of the crash has already been ordered. Further details are expected to be released following an official assessment.
