Ahead of the Lok Sabha poll results, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Kanniyakumari in Tamil Nadu on May 30. The Lok Sabha poll results will be declared on June 4.
During his visit, PM Modi is expected to stay for two days and meditate at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial Hall on May 31.
Sources suggest he may extend his meditation into June 1, before leaving Kanniyakumari later that day.
Police sources noted, “If the Prime Minister decides to meditate on June 1 also, he will be at Vivekananda Rock Memorial for the second day before leaving Kanniyakumari.”
This visit mirrors PM Modi’s actions ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, where he offered prayers at the Kedarnath shrine in Uttarakhand days before vote counting. On that occasion,
PM had Modi meditated in a cave 11,700 feet up in the Himalayas, spending the night at the Rudra meditation cave near Kedarnath.
The cave featured amenities such as electricity, a heater, a simple bed, a mattress, a small bathing area, an attached toilet, an electric geyser for hot water, and a telephone.
The BJP, along with its National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners, aims to secure more than 400 seats out of the 543-member Lok Sabha. Achieving this would mark the party's third consecutive single-party majority and secure PM Modi's third term.
In an interview, Modi displayed his confidence in the strategy, stating, “Phir ek baar Modi sarkar. Aur chaar June 400 paar.”
Reflecting on the 2019 elections, Modi said, “The largest party even then in the south was BJP. Again, I say this: the largest party in the south this time will be BJP, and its allies will add more seats to it.”
