Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to release the 18th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme on October 5 during a function in Washim district, Maharashtra.

According to an official release from the Washim district administration, over 9.4 crore farmers nationwide will benefit from the scheme, receiving aid totalling ₹20,000 crore through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

"Approximately 2.5 crore farmers across the country will join the event via web cast, including those at 732 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), over one lakh Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies, and five lakh Common Service Centres," the release stated.

The disbursement of the 18th instalment will push the total amount disbursed under the PM-KISAN scheme to over ₹3.45 lakh crore, benefiting more than 11 crore farmers and reinforcing the government's commitment to rural development and agricultural prosperity.

In Maharashtra alone, ₹32,000 crore has been transferred to around 1.20 crore farmers in 17 instalments, making it the second-highest recipient among all states. The 18th instalment will see approximately 91.51 lakh farmers in the state receive benefits exceeding ₹1,900 crore.
