Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to unveil development projects exceeding Rs 34,800 crore in Bihar today. Additionally, he will inaugurate multiple projects in the oil and gas sector, valued at approximately Rs 1.48 lakh crore across various states, according to an official statement.
This visit marks Modi's first trip to Bihar since Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's return to the BJP-led NDA.
During the Begusarai event, Modi will unveil oil and gas sector projects spanning Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Punjab, and Karnataka, including the KG Basin. He will dedicate the 'first oil' from the KG Basin to the nation and flag off the inaugural crude oil tanker from the ONGC Krishna Godavari deepwater project.
Stringent security measures have been implemented in both districts ahead of the Prime Minister's visit, with the expectation of top NDA leaders attending both programs, including the Chief Minister.
In Aurangabad, Modi will unveil national highway projects exceeding Rs 18,000 crore, lay the foundation stone for a six-lane bridge over the Ganga, and dedicate three railway projects, including the doubling of the Pataliputra-Pahleja line and a new 26-km line between Bandhua and Paimar. He will also inaugurate 12 projects under the Namami Gange scheme and lay the foundation stone for Unity Mall in Patna.
In Begusarai, the Prime Minister will dedicate the revived fertiliser plant of Hindustan Urvarak Rasayan Limited (HURL) at Barauni, revived for Rs 9,500 crore. Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for the Rs 11,400-crore expansion of the Barauni Refinery.
