In a major breakthrough, a joint team of the police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) recovered a large cache of arms and Naxal-related materials during a special search operation carried out in the Bokaro-Hazaribagh border area.
The seized items include two SLR rifles, magazines, a large number of cartridges, backpacks, clothing, and several items of daily use. Officials said the recovery is a significant step in foiling a major Naxal conspiracy.
Confirming the development, Hazaribagh Superintendent of Police (SP) Anjani Anjan said the operation was launched based on specific intelligence inputs indicating that some members of a Naxal outfit were active in the forested region along the Bokaro-Hazaribagh border.

During the search, the joint team discovered an underground hideout containing weapons and other materials.
Anjan praised the CRPF’s crucial role in the operation, stating that the nature of the recovered arms suggests that the Naxalites were planning a major attack. “Timely action and coordination between the police and CRPF successfully thwarted their plans,” he said.
Following the recovery, security forces have intensified combing operations across the region. Additional personnel have been deployed in forested areas to monitor potential Naxal movements, and continuous patrolling is being carried out in the bordering zones.
The SP added that the operation is part of a larger, statewide anti-Naxal strategy that will be further strengthened in the coming days.
