President Murmu departs for 3-day visit to Mauritius

The Ministry of External Affairs writing in a post on X, stated, "A new milestone in India-Mauritius ties. President Droupadi Murmu embarks on a state visit to Mauritius. President will attend the Mauritius National Day celebrations as the Chief Guest tomorrow."

President Droupadi Murmu is on a three day visit to Mauritius.


President Droupadi Murmu is on a visit to the island country Mauritius from March 11-13. The Indian president will be attending the National Day celebrations of Mauritius as a chief guest. 

 

Two Ships from the Indian Navy's First Training Squadron, INS Tir and CGS Sarathi, will join a contingent of the Indian Navy in the March 12 celebrations. 

 

The Ministry of External Affairs writing in a post on X, stated, "A new milestone in India-Mauritius ties. President Droupadi Murmu embarks on a state visit to Mauritius. President will attend the Mauritius National Day celebrations as the Chief Guest tomorrow." 

The president during the visit along with Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth will collectively inaugurate 14 projects assisted by India, highlighting the extensive and diverse aspects of India's development collaboration. 

 

Several bilateral meetings are also scheduled to take place. 

 

MEA spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, the previous week, cited, "As the sixth Indian President to grace the Mauritian National Day as the Chief Guest since 2000, President Droupadi Murmu's state visit underscores the longstanding and enduring ties between India and Mauritius."
