President Droupadi Murmu is expected to make a visit to West Bengal on July 30 to preside over the first convocation of AIIMS-Kalyani, officials told the media on Sunday. Upon landing in Kolkata, she is expected to fly by helicopter to Kalyani in Nadia district, they added.
She will arrive at the institute at around 3.40 pm, they said. She would go back to Kolkata after the convocation, officials added.
In the evening, she is also expected to pay her respects to the goddess Kali at Dakshineswar Kali temple on the north-eastern outskirts of the city, they said.

She will be spending the night at Raj Bhavan, they said. The president is likely to depart for Delhi on July 31.
Murmu had last visited the state on December 18, 2023, to witness the convocation of IIT-Kharagpur.
