PM Modi and NSA to attend Odisha event amid terror threat.

The threat issued by US-based pro-Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun has drawn significant attention as it targets the upcoming Director Generals and Inspector Generals of Police Conference in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

Pannun, who heads the banned outfit Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), released a video on Thursday, urging disruption of the high-profile three-day event beginning Friday.

In the video, Pannun labeled Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval as an "axis of evil," accusing them of creating security threats in Bhubaneswar.

He also referred to the city as a "city of terror" rather than a "city of temples," alleging that the gathering would include officials from various central forces such as the CRPF, NSG, NIA, and IB.

Pannun further called on groups like Naxals, Maoists, and Kashmiri separatists to use Bhubaneswar's temples and hotels as bases to internationalize their causes.

He also accused Indian authorities of orchestrating the assassination of Khalistani activist Sahid Nijjar and claimed the conference promotes what he described as a violent Hindutva ideology targeting pro-Khalistan Sikhs, Kashmiri fighters, and other groups.

The state capital has been placed under heavy security in response to the threat. Authorities have taken stringent measures to ensure the safety of the VVIPs and delegates attending the event.

A senior police official stated that the arrangements include deploying forces like the BSF and CRPF, setting up Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs), conducting anti-sabotage checks, and intensifying patrols across the city. CCTV surveillance and human intelligence units have also been activated to monitor the situation and prevent any untoward incidents.

The conference is a significant event on the national security calendar and will see participation from top leaders and officials, including Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Shah, and NSA Doval.

Senior officers of the Intelligence Bureau, Director Generals of Police from all states, and chiefs of key agencies like the CRPF, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), National Security Guard (NSG), and Special Protection Group (SPG) will also be in attendance.

The threat comes at a time when India has been dealing with rising concerns over Khalistani activities and international propaganda.

Pannun, known for his anti-India rhetoric, has been using social media and other platforms to spread his agenda. His call for disruption of such a critical event highlights the continued challenges posed by separatist groups operating from abroad.

Security experts have emphasized the importance of robust countermeasures to ensure the safety of all attendees. With the presence of top officials, the conference is not only a platform to discuss pressing security issues but also a demonstration of India's resolve to tackle threats, both domestic and international.

The Odisha police, along with central agencies, are leaving no stone unturned to secure the city. Comprehensive checks and monitoring have been put in place, with specific focus on areas hosting delegates and key events.

The authorities have assured the public and participants of a safe and incident-free event, despite the threats issued by Pannun.
