<div>According to reports, India's Ministry of Defence may scrap the proposal to build three additional Scorpene-class submarines at Mazagon Docks (MDL). The deal, which could have cost around Rs 36,000 crore, is currently off the table, said a media report.</div>

<div>The Scorp&egrave;ne-class submarines are diesel-electric attack vessels co-developed by France&rsquo;s Naval Group and Spain&rsquo;s Navantia. Designed for stealth missions, intelligence gathering, and anti-ship as well as anti-submarine warfare, they are armed with advanced torpedoes and missiles.</div>
