Issuing a stern warning to Pakistan over its unrelenting support to terrorism, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh urged the neighbouring country on Friday to hand over designated terrorists Masood Azhar and Hafiz Saeed to India.
Addressing naval personnel aboard aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, the Defence Minister sent across a strong message across the border, saying, “Pakistan needs to understand clearly that the dangerous game of terrorism that it has been playing since Independence is over now.”
Echoing India’s zero-tolerance approach towards terrorism, Rajnath said India would use all means available to counter the threat. “We will use every method against terror that Pakistan can think of. We will also not hesitate to use methods which they can’t even think of. It would be in Pakistan’s interest to uproot nurseries of terrorism operating on its soil with its own hands,” he said.
Referring to India’s recent military action against Pakistan, Rajnath described Operation Sindoor as a defining moment in India’s counter-terrorism efforts. “It is not just a military action, but India’s frontal assault against terrorism,” he said.

‘We forced Pak to go pleading globally’
Applauding the Indian Navy for its critical role in Operation Sindoor, Rajnath credited it with keeping Pakistan’s military on the defensive during India’s counter-terror operations. “Our Navy has impressed every Indian with its silent service. By remaining silent, it has succeeded in keeping their army tied down,” he said.
The Defence Minister said when the Air Force destroyed terror bases on Pakistani soil, the Navy’s aggressive deployment in the Arabian Sea confined Pakistan’s Navy to its shores. Speaking about the success of the broader operation, he said, “Our strike was so powerful that Pakistan began pleading with the entire world to stop India.”
Rajnath again dismissed former US President Donald Trump’s claims of mediating the May 10 Indo-Pak ceasefire. Clarifying that the decision to pause military operations was entirely India’s, he said, “We halted our military actions on our own terms.”
