In a recent development, new CCTV footage surfaced on Saturday, revealing the suspect behind the Bengaluru Rameshwaran Cafe blast as he approached the restaurant carrying a bag believed to contain an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).

Following the explosion on Friday that left 10 people injured, the suspect is currently evading authorities, prompting the police to deploy 7–8 teams to track him down.

According to police sources involved in the anti-terror law investigation, the low-intensity bomb blast at the popular cafe in Bengaluru was executed by detonating the IED bomb using a timer.

As the probe progressed, the National Security Guard (NSG) team arrived at the blast site on Saturday morning to conduct a thorough examination.

The newly obtained CCTV footage depicts the suspect donning a white cap and mask while carrying a shoulder bag as he walks towards the cafe. Law enforcement had previously identified the individual from the CCTV footage obtained earlier.

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar provided details about the suspect, describing him as a young man aged approximately 28 to 30 years. The suspect reportedly placed the bag near a tree adjacent to the cafe before departing. The blast occurred an hour later. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the suspect and further investigate the incident.

In an official statement, the cafe conveyed its deep sadness regarding the unfortunate incident and assured collaboration with the investigative process, stating, "We are deeply saddened by the unfortunate incident at our Brookefield branch. We are cooperating with the authorities and officials in their investigations."

Divya Raghavendra Rao, the co-founder and managing director of the cafe, expressed sympathy for the injured and their families. She stated, "Our thoughts are with the injured and their families, and we are offering them all the support, assistance, and care they need and praying for their speedy recovery."

The Bengaluru Police has registered a case under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Explosives Substances Act in connection with the explosion at the cafe.

Meanwhile, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi, who is also the MP from the Dharwad constituency in Karnataka, visited the injured individuals at a hospital. He, along with Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot and state BJP president Vijayendra Yeddyurappa, condemned the incident and inquired about the situation. Speaking to the media, Joshi termed the incident as "inhumane" and expressed deep condemnation.
