The co-founder and CEO of The Rameshwaram Cafe in Brookfield, where a low-intensity blast injured 10 people on Friday, announced that the outlet will reopen on March 8. Both staff and customers were injured in the blast, but all are recovering, according to police reports.
"We want to express our gratitude to the authorities for their support during this challenging time. We believe strongly in the resilience of our nation's spirit.
Despite the unfortunate incident, we've decided to reopen our Brookfield outlet on March 8, which coincides with the auspicious day of Mahashivratri," said Raghavendra Rao.
The eatery was temporarily closed off for investigation by city police following the blast.
"We extend a warm invitation to authorities and customers to join us for our reopening. Let's stand together in solidarity to show our unwavering commitment to moving forward," added Rao.
Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda stated that the investigation into the blast, caused by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), is ongoing with multiple teams pursuing different leads.
"In light of the sensitivity and security concerns, we urge the media to refrain from speculation and cooperate with the investigation," said Dayananda, noting that no arrests have been made thus far.
The Bengaluru Police have registered a case under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Explosives Substances Act regarding the explosion at the popular quick-service eatery.
