The news of Jadeja's political debut was shared by his wife, Rivaba Jadeja, who is already a member of the BJP. Rivaba, a BJP MLA representing the Jamnagar constituency, took to social media to announce her husband's new role.
In her post, she included pictures of Ravindra Jadeja with his BJP membership card, highlighting their joint commitment to the party. The announcement coincides with a broader BJP membership drive spearheaded by BJP National President JP Nadda, who had recently renewed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's membership in Delhi.
Rivaba Jadeja joined the BJP in 2019 and later contested the Jamnagar assembly seat in 2022, where she secured a victory over AAP candidate Karshanbhai Karmur. Her success in the political arena has set a precedent for her husband's entry into the political sphere.
