A student from Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital was found dead at her residence in the ESI Hospital Quarters in Kamarhati, located in North 24 Parganas district, West Bengal.
Ivy Prasad, a medical student, was discovered lifeless in her room by her mother, a doctor, who had become anxious after repeated attempts to contact her daughter went unanswered.
The discovery of Ivy's body has prompted the local authorities to initiate an investigation into the incident.
The police have filed a case of unnatural death, although the exact cause remains unclear. A post-mortem examination has been conducted, but the results are yet to be released, leaving many questions unanswered.

Ivy's father, who works in a bank, resides in Mumbai, and it is unclear whether he had any prior knowledge of his daughter's situation. The tragic event has shaken the local community, especially considering the emotional impact on her family.
This incident follows a similarly unsettling event from the previous year when a post-graduate trainee doctor was found dead in the seminar room of the RG Kar Hospital.
These two separate occurrences have raised concerns about safety and mental health within the medical community in Kolkata, and have led to questions regarding potential underlying issues that may need addressing.
