November Hearing Scheduled for Krishna Janmabhoomi Dispute.

The Supreme Court has postponed the hearing on the Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Eidgah Masjid dispute until November. This delay means that the ongoing legal discussions over this complex case will not continue until the first week of November.

The Supreme Court had earlier issued an interim order on January 16, which stayed the execution of a commission appointed by the Allahabad High Court. This commission was set up to inspect the disputed premises following a plea by the Shahi Idgah Masjid Management Committee. This committee had challenged the High Court's decision to allow Hindu devotees to appoint a commissioner for the inspection of the site.

In its latest decision, the Supreme Court extended the interim order and stated that it needed more time to review the recent Allahabad High Court ruling. This ruling upheld the right of Hindu worshippers to file civil suits related to the dispute.

The court has previously directed the parties involved to complete their pleadings and submit written arguments, limited to three pages, along with relevant judgments. However, it also made clear that the trial proceedings currently ongoing in the High Court could proceed.

Additionally, the Supreme Court is reviewing a plea from the mosque committee challenging the High Court's decision to transfer multiple suits related to this case to itself.

These suits, filed in various Mathura courts, generally claim that the Eidgah complex was constructed on land traditionally believed to be the birthplace of Lord Krishna, where a temple was said to have once stood.

The ongoing legal battle involves significant historical and religious claims, and the Supreme Court's extended review period highlights the complexity and sensitivity of the dispute.
