The Supreme Court on Monday allowed popular podcaster and YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, known as BeerBiceps, to get back his passport so he can travel abroad for work.

A bench of Justices Surya Kant and N Kotiswar Singh granted this permission after the governments of Assam and Maharashtra confirmed that their investigations against Allahbadia were complete. The court asked Allahbadia to approach the Maharashtra Cyber Police Bureau to collect his passport.

The judges also spoke to senior advocate Abhinav Chandrachud, who represents Allahbadia, and said they would consider his request to combine all the FIRs (police cases) against his client into one case at the next hearing.

Earlier, on February 18, the Supreme Court had given Allahbadia protection from being arrested in connection with several FIRs related to comments he made during a YouTube show. At that time, the court ordered him to hand over his passport to the police at the nodal cyber police station in Thane.

On March 3, the Supreme Court allowed Allahbadia to resume hosting his popular podcast, "The Ranveer Show," but added a condition. The court said the show's content must meet standards of "morality and decency" and should be suitable for people of all ages.

The controversy started after Allahbadia made comments about parents and sex during an appearance on comedian Samay Raina’s YouTube show "India’s Got Latent." His remarks led to several FIRs being filed. The Supreme Court had earlier described his comments as "vulgar" and said they showed a "dirty mind" that brought shame to society.

Other comedians, including Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Makhija, were also named in the FIRs filed in Assam. Initially, the court had stopped Allahbadia from posting any podcast content that could directly or indirectly affect the ongoing cases.
